Tricky Tipster, In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals
It all comes down to this. After eight months and 19 grueling rounds, the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series will come to a close this weekend at the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals in Pomona. There is a lot on the line, including championships in all four Professional categories.
Doug Kalitta and Austin Prock are the incoming leaders in Top Fuel and Funny Car, and they are both the pre-race favorites. In Pro Stock, Greg Anderson is trailing teammate Dallas Glenn, but is the favorite, and a similar situation exists in Pro Stock Motorcycle, where Gaige Herrera, the favorite, is attempting to catch his teammate, Richard Gadson.
As part of PlayNHRA, drag racing fans have the opportunity to engage in fantasy games, gaming, and betting for this event. Betting markets feature Professional classes, where fans can wager on event winners, low elapsed time of the event, head-to-head matchups, and season champions.
Below are the opening odds as provided by Alt Sports Data.
(Note: In American sports betting, odds are typically expressed with a plus (+) or minus (–) symbol followed by a number. For example, +200 signifies the amount a bettor could win if wagering $100. If the bet works out, the player will receive a total payout of $300; $200 profit + $100 initial stake.)
TOP FUEL

Doug Kalitta is chasing his second Top Fuel title in three years, and with a 144-point lead over teammate Shawn Langdon, he doesn’t need to do much more than qualify in order to clinch it. Kalitta, who has performed remarkably well during the Countdown to the Championship phase of the season, opened as a solid favorite at +450, meaning a $10 wager would return a total of $55. Kalitta came into the playoffs as the No. 4 seed in the class and has steadily improved his points total.
Las Vegas winner Brittany Force is second to Kalitta at +550, while title hopefuls Langdon and Justin Ashley are priced at +550. Not too far off in the distance are Tony Stewart at +600 and Shawn Reed at +700, while Antron Brown and Clay Millican are at +800.
With 11 cars on the entry list, there is only one true underdog, and that is Dan Mercier at +1900. Mercier has attended nine events this season and has qualified solidly for all of them.

FUNNY CAR

His lead is not as big as Kalitta’s, but Austin Prock is sitting pretty in the Funny Car standings as he looks to defend his 2024 title in his Cornwell Tools Camaro. Prock, winner of nine events this season, has led the points since the spring Las Vegas event in April, and he’s a modest +120 for openers.
Prock’s teammate, Jack Beckman, is +600, while Las Vegas winner Matt Hagan comes in at +750, a solid value for a four-time world champ and past Pomona winner.
Paul Lee and Spencer Hyde have both had what would be considered successful seasons, and they are priced at +1000, while Bob Tasca III (+1100), J.R. Todd (+1200), Chad Green (+1300), and Ron Capps (+1300) are also solid value picks.
The 19-car Funny Car field also includes Cruz Pedregon at +1500, Daniel Wilkerson (+1700), and Alexis DeJoria (+1900).

PRO STOCK

Dallas Glenn scored a clutch victory in Las Vegas to extend his points lead, but he’s not the favorite in Pro Stock. That honor goes to six-time champ Greg Anderson, who is attempting to make up a 92-point deficit and is priced at +260, making him a solid favorite. Glenn isn’t far behind at +320 as he looks to win a first world championship for the RAD Torque Systems team.
Anderson and Glenn are big favorites, leaving a tremendous amount of value down the line, including Matt Hartford, who is third in the points battle and has odds of +900. Six-time champion Erica Enders can also be had for a similar price of +900.
Cory Reed and Greg Stanfield have both won races this year, and the oddsmakers have them at +1400 and +1500, respectively. One other entry that is almost sure to attract attention with the betting public is Dave Connolly, who will be making his second straight start for the KB Titan Racing team. Coming off a round-one loss in Las Vegas, Connolly is likely to deliver a better performance in Pomona, and his opening line is +1500.

PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE

After the Las Vegas event, where Gaige Herrera won his 28th career Pro Stock Motorcycle race, the battle for the title is almost even with Richard Gadson holding a slim 21-point edge over his Vance & Hines teammate. Herrera remains the biggest favorite of any Pro racer at -170, meaning a $10 wager returns just $15.88, while Gadson’s opening line is +300.
The only other rider who isn’t 10-1 or higher is Matt Smith, who has appeared in five final rounds this season. The six-time champion is +550, while his wife, Angie, fresh off a runner-up finish in Las Vegas, is +2200.
Brayden Davis also merits some consideration at +1300 as he continues to move closer to his first NHRA victory, while John Hall, winner of two events this season, is +1500.
Six years ago, Jianna Evaristo pulled off one of the biggest upsets in NHRA history when she won the Pomona event. Should that happen again, bettors would be rewarded handsomely as Evaristo opens at +3600.
