Matt Hagan (Funny Car) and Dallas Glenn (Pro Stock) also won the Mission Challenge, while Leah Pruett (Top Fuel), J.R. Todd (Funny Car), and Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) all qualified No. 1

Vandergriff gaining confidence and making new memories at hometown Pomona track
The last time — well, the only other time — that Jordan Vandergriff raced down the Pomona dragstrip was in Top Fuel in 2019, and he enters Saturday as the No. 1 qualifier, driving the Cornwell Quality Tools Chevrolet formerly driven by the guy he beat in that first round seven years ago, Austin Prock.
