Odds updated for Mission Foods NHRA professional championships

With two events remaining in the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season, current leaders Doug Kalitta, Austin Prock, Dallas Glenn, and Richard Gadson are huge favorites to win championships.

NHRA fans participating in gaming as part of the PlayNHRA initiative continue to have the opportunity to place wagers on the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series champions in Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle as the season hits the homestretch with two events remaining in Las Vegas and Pomona.

During the Countdown to the Championship playoffs, significant favorites have emerged as Kalitta, Prock, Glenn, and Gadson hold sizable leads in Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle, respectively.

Even though the aforementioned drivers are big favorites, there are multiple contenders in each category, and the experts at Alt Sports Data have provided updated odds for those classes.

TOP FUEL

In Top Fuel, 2023 world champ Doug Kalitta holds a massive 141-point lead over Justin Ashley, and as a result, he’s a huge favorite at -2500, meaning a wager of $250 would return a $10 profit. With such overwhelming odds, it might be best to look at some of the long shots who could possibly unseat Kalitta.

Justin Ashley is currently priced at +1200, meaning a $10 bet would return $130. Ashley is essentially seven rounds behind with eight to go, but it's worth noting that the final event of the season in Pomona features a points-and-a-half format, so each round is worth 30 points rather than 20.

Kalitta’s teammate, Shawn Langdon, is 159 points back, and his current price is +2500, while Brittany Force, Clay Millican, and reigning champ Antron Brown are at +3000, while Shawn Reed and Tony Stewart are true long shots at +4000.

FUNNY CAR

With wins in nine of the first 18 events of the season, reigning Funny Car champ Austin Prock has built up a 112-point lead against Matt Hagan in the standings, making him a big favorite to repeat. As such, Prock currently carries a price of -2200, meaning a $10 wager would net a profit of just .45 cents.

Much like Top Fuel, bettors looking for value will have to look at the underdogs and hope that Prock stumbles in the final two events. Hagan is the most likely candidate to overtake Prock, and he is priced at +1200. Further down the order, Jack Beckman is +2200, and he’s 131 points behind Prock.

There are other drivers within striking distance, including Ron Capps and Daniel Wilkerson, but their ability to win a title would depend on Prock having at least one, or likely two, bad results to close out the season. Capps and Wilkerson are both listed at +2500 along with Bob Tasca III and Chad Green.

PRO STOCK

The points battle in Pro Stock is a bit more competitive than either of the nitro classes, but just barely. Dallas Glenn is in the driver’s seat with a 60-point lead over KB Titan teammate Greg Anderson. Glenn’s current odds are -650, meaning a $10 bet would return $11.53, while Anderson is +400, which means $10 would return $50 should he come from behind to win a seventh world title.

After Glenn and Anderson, the path to a title for anyone else gets a bit more complicated. Matt Hartford is currently ranked No. 3, but he’s 225 points back. Aaron Stanfield, Cory Reed, and Erica Enders are each mathematically in the running for the title, but they are each 230 or more points back with just 321 total points available at the final two events.

PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE

NHRA’s two-wheel class features a competitive points battle as Richard Gadson currently leads teammate Gaige Herrera by 72 points heading into the Las Vegas event. Gadson, a winner in Charlotte and Dallas, carries a -250 price tag, which means a $10 wager would return $14. Herrera, seeking his third title, is at +220, which means a $10 bet returns $32.

Matt Smith is 105 points back, which means he’s in the hunt for a seventh title but would likely need some luck in order to make it a reality. Smith can be had for +1400, while everyone else in the field, including Smith’s teammates John Hall and Angie Smith, is +5000 or higher.

Brayden Davis is 186 points back, which means he’s a true long shot to win the title, but the NHRA Rookie of the Year candidate is +6500 according to oddsmakers. Davis has competed in just eight events this season, but he’s been to three final rounds and also has three semifinals.
