From national-record runs to the continuation of a winning streak, the Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals presented by Minties, race No. 8 on the 2017 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, was jam-packed with great moments. Here's a look at five of the biggest moments from the event.

Bob Rahaim raced to the qualifying lead for the NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Drag Racing Series portion of the Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals presented by Minties at Heartland Park Topeka but lost in round one to Larry Morgan (pictured).

Three-time NHRA Top Fuel champion Larry Dixon will make his Top Alcohol Funny Car debut May 19-21 at Summit Motorsports Park. The event is part of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series for Division 3.

Former Top Fuel world champ Larry Dixon made his Top Alcohol Funny Car debut a memorable one, joining John Paul Gutierrez as alcohol-class winners at the Cavalcade of Stars event in Division 3.

David Rampy doubled up at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Southeast Division at Atlanta Dragway. Rampy won in both Comp and Super Stock at the event, the fifth of the seven events in the division.

The JEGS NHRA SPORTSnationals returns to Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Ky., for the second consecutive year on Memorial Day weekend, for three days of intense racing action.
