A month after securing his fourth NHRA world championship, Antron Brown and his AB Motorsports team continued speeding towards success as Brown and primary partner Matco Tools have announced an extension of their relationship, which spans more than 20 years.

Mike Coughlin, entering his 40th season as a licensed NHRA racer, will compete in the Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage Mountain Motor Pro Stock class in 2025 as a member of Elite Motorsports.

With a new lease on life after a proposed closing in 2023, the operators of Firebird Motorsports Park have gone full speed ahead with improvements at the famed Phoenix-area racetrack, including a repaving of the dragstrip in anticipation of the 2025 NHRA Arizona Nationals, March 21-23.

Ultimately, Torres stood his ground on home turf against some of the best in the country to earn his first world championship in an emotion-tipped season closer. 

Cody Webber raced in Las Vegas three times in 2024 and was rewarded with two wins and a runner-up, and the valuable points he earned in those three events were key to his world championship drive in Right Trailers Top Dragster.  

The 2nd annual NHRA National Dragster All-Star Team was unveiled over the weekend at the Performance Racing Industry trade show in Indianapolis, with a live global audience watching the coronations on the NHRA stage.

The 2024 PRI Show in Indianapolis provided three days packed with major announcements of interest and importance to NHRA racers, fans, and sponsors, including new events, partnerships, and schedules.

The popular Legends Nitro Series will return in 2025 with a 10-race schedule spanning events in the six-race NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Racing Series and four NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series events, including the prestigious Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals.

Precision Built Race Cars, which has become one of the go-to places for Top Fuel and Funny Car chassis, was voted as Racecar Builder of the Year by the voters for the 2024 National Dragster All-Star team.

Pro Mod racer Spencer Hyde will fill the open seat at Jim Head Racing for the entire NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series in 2025.

NHRA officials have announced that PJH Trackbite has been named the “Official Traction Compound of NHRA,” beginning during the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season as part of a long-term partnership.

Old World Industries has announced a multiyear extension with John Force Racing that includes primary sponsorship of the Peak Antifreeze and Coolant Chevrolet SS in which Jack Beckman will pursue the Funny Car championship in the NHRA’s 2025 Mission Foods Drag Racing Series.

Ida Zetterström didn’t make her Top Fuel season debut until August, but her eight-race body of work to close out the season and her strong international support earned her the support of voters to be named Best New Talent.

For the first time in NHRA history, there will be four-wide racing in the Countdown to the Championship. NHRA and zMAX Dragway officials announced the first four-wide playoff race at the revamped NHRA 4-Wide Carolina Nationals, Sept. 19-21, 2025, at zMAX Dragway.
