Top Fuel racer Justin Ashley has been named the 2020 NHRA Rookie of the Year. The 25-year-old from Plainview, N.Y., scored a victory at the NHRA Summernationals, qualified for every national event during the 11-race season, led the category in reaction time advantage. and secured 10 round wins.

When Chris “Cowboy” Morel stages his Little City Charger for Saturday’s first qualifying run at the Dodge NHRA Finals presented by Pennzoil, it will mark the end of a two-year odyssey from the Nostalgia Funny Car ranks to the “big show.”

This weekend, champions will be crowned at the Dodge NHRA Finals presented by Pennzoil, the 11th final race in the 2020 Camping World NHRA Drag Racing Series. Title are up for grabs in Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, Pro Stock Motorcycle, as well as the E3 Spark Plugs Pro Mod series, Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, and Summit Racing E.T. Series.

The seven-event E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Modified Series season ends this weekend at the Dodge NHRA Finals presented by Pennzoil at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Four drivers are still in contention for the 2020 championship including a possible first-time champ.

Kindness General Contractors (KGC) of Cypress, Calif., will be Jim Dunn Racing’s primary sponsor at NHRA’s final race of the season this weekend in Las Vegas.
