Four NHRA Member Tracks awarded Summit E.T. Finals wild cards
Four NHRA Member Tracks have been awarded a first-of-its-kind opportunity to send a local racer the NHRA Summit Racing Series Finals presented by Hoosier in Las Vegas.
The drawing was held on Friday at Sonoma Raceway during the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals presented by Power Edge, and conducted by Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports & Events Manager Jim Greenleaf using a blind draw out of a Hoosier Tire.
Over 100 NHRA Member Tracks make up the NHRA Summit Racing Series presented by Hoosier, and all of them were eligible for the drawing, hosted by NHRA announcer and Sportsman Racing Manager Jason Galvin.
The first selection came for the quickest category, Super Pro, and in a moment that seemed fitting for NHRA’s 75th Anniversary celebration, SRCA Dragstrip in Great Bend, Kansas – the home of the first NHRA National Event - was the first track selected.
Southeast Division staple Orlando Speed World Dragway was the winner in Pro. The Florida track has a rich history in the NHRA Summit Racing Series presented by Hoosier.
The Sportsman selection was next, with Byron Dragway in Byron, Ill., awarded the spot. The quarter-mile track located on the Rock River has blossomed into a serious threat in the North Central Division in recent years.
The final selection came for the Sportsman Motorcycle division, and as fate would have it, the track selected by Greenleaf is the host of the event, The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Each track will now have the ability to choose who and how the representatives are selected. The four finalists will join the field of 64, comprised of winners at the eleven E.T. Finals events being contested in 2026, as well as wild cards from four divisions, at the Mopar NHRA Las Vegas Nationals powered by Dodge, October 29 through November 1.
The drawing came alongside the announcement of a Hoosier Prize Pool in 2026, with $30,000 allotted to anyone who wins an ET Finals or the World Championships in Las Vegas while using Hoosier Tires. Competitors must have the Hoosier contingency decal to be eligible for the prize.
Competitors in Las Vegas also receive $3,000 each in travel money from Summit Racing Equipment and will be treated to a weekend of amazing experiences, starting with a welcome dinner Thursday evening at the track. Last year, other prizes included the ability to warm up Daniel Wilkerson’s Funny Car, being a team member for the day with Antron Brown and Clay Millican, and a behind-the-scenes tour of Vance & Hines Pro Stock Motorcycle operation.
