Following the early rounds of competition at the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals in Pomona, Cody Lane and Cody Webber have clinched NHRA Lucas Oil Series championships in Comp and Right Trailers Top Dragster, respectively.

Lane wrapped up his first Comp title in round one after Ryan Warter and Don Thomas, his closest rivals, each lost. Warter lost to former champ Ryan Priddy while Thomas was defeated by Tom Mettler. Rodger Brogdon, who was also in the running for the title, chose not to enter the event, allowing Lane to clinch on Friday. Lane finished the season with 605 points after a season that included four wins in eight final rounds. Lane’, who doubled up at Yellowstone Dragstrip earlier this year, closed on the title two weeks ago when he won the Division 7 event in Las Vegas.

Webber, the winner of the Four-Wide Nationals in Las Vegas earlier this season, also put the wraps on his first title early on Friday. Webber came in as the points leader and lost in round one, but still had cause to celebrate after rival Mark Grame did not enter the event.

Webber closed out the season with 585 points in a season that included two wins in four final rounds.

The titles in Top Alcohol Dragster, Super Stock, Super Gas and Right Trailers Top Sportsman are still to be decided. In top Alcohol Dragster, the battle is between leader Shawn Cowie and Jackie Fricke while Super Stock is down to Jimmy Hidalgo Jr. and Ryan McClanahan, who must go to the semifinals to win the title. Super Gas is a multi-way battle between Luke Bogacki, Keith Mayers, Val Torres, and Evan Kowalski. The Top Sportsman title will be decided between Allen Firestone, Bill Yates, and David Cook.

Previously, Shawn Bellemeur clinched the Top Alcohol Funny Car title while Colby Fuller and Joe Sorensen wrapped up the Super Comp and Stock titles last weekend in Las Vegas.
