As a result of the potentially reduced 2020 series schedule for the E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Series presented by J&A Services, adjustments have been made to the series points structure.

Competitors will now earn points at all remaining events, which includes the Denso Spark Plugs NHRA U.S. Nationals, towards the 2020 series championship. Previously, NHRA had announced that points would only be earned at select events.

NHRA Pro Mod racers have competed twice this year, at the Lucas Oil NHRA Summernationals and the Dodge NHRA Indy Nationals, although the former has yet to be completed. Kris Thorne is the current points leader by a single point over Indy Nationals winner Jonathan Gray.

In addition to the upcoming U.S. Nationals, NHRA Pro Mod competition is currently scheduled to be held at the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla.; NGK Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Charlotte, N.C.; AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals in Maddison, Ill.; NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals in Bristol, Tenn.; AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals in Dallas; and the Dodge NHRA Nationals Presented By Pennzoil in Las Vegas.

Pro Mod competition is also slated for the three postponed events: Dodge Mile High NHRA Nationals in Morrison, Colo.; Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals in Brainerd, Minn.; and the Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals presented by Minties in Topeka, Kan.
