Tony Pedregon: When you talk about Matt Hagan, you're talking about one of the marquee drivers. He's always there. He's always amongst the best reacting, quickest drivers off the starting line. And he has a good car. And when you combine those, this is the end result. Matt Hagan will visit that winner's circle, many, many times.

Brian Lohnes: There was his dramatic win when he blew the car up in the lights at the 2020 E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals at Indy, and then there was [his] semifinal round victory in convincing fashion over the number one qualifier, Bob Tasca III at the Lucas Oil NHRA Summernationals at Indianapolis. The final round that he earned his spot in will be contested at the Denso Spark Plugs NHRA U.S. Nationals. Yet in this particular weekend at the Dodge NHRA Indy Nationals presented by Pennzoil. He qualified number two and he did so in this run next to Tim Wilkerson, a brilliant run. And this team has been so consistent, the team themselves are servicing the car perfectly. Matt is doing a brilliant job driving the race car and Dickie Venables is making all the right calls, whether on a very warm racetrack, like we saw in that qualifying session or a slightly tighter cooler racetrack as we watch Matt Hagan and wrestle his 11,000-horsepower hot rod down the racetrack.
