Veteran racer Herb McCandless joined NHRA reporter Lewis Bloom via Skype in the Wally Parks NHRA Studio delivered by Papa John’s to talk about this weekend’s Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis.

McCandless has a great history at the U.S.  Nationals being the first ever driver to win the event in Pro Stock in 1970. Recently he has spent time on the mic doing color commentary with NHRA announcer Brian Lohnes for the Mopar Hemi Challenge.

McCandless talked about the specialty race coming up this weekend and some of his great history in the sport of NHRA Drag Racing.
