NHRA Today: Five-time Jr. Dragster Conference Finals champ Cade Poe
Cade Poe joined NHRA reporter Lewis Bloom in the NHRA Wally Parks Studio delivered by Papa John’s to talk about his ongoing successful career in the NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League. Fifteen-year-old Poe is a resident of Los Alamitos, Calif., and is the second member of his family after his brother, Tanner, to take to the track in a Jr. Dragster.
Known as the most successful Jr. drag racer of all time Poe is a five-time winner of the prestigious Conference Finals events, winning his most recent title at this year’s NHRA Jr. Drag Racing Eastern Conference Finals presented by Huddleston Performance in Bristol. Poe five wins is far and away the best by a Jr. racer in the history of the Conference Finals and the single National Championships event that preceded the current two-Conference Finals format. The next-best is two wins by a single racer, a feat accomplished by more than 20 competitors since the first National Championships in 1994.
Poe talked about what he likes about racing in the Jr. series, his goals for the future, and some of his drag racing heroes. With his younger sister, Reese, taking to the track, another Poe family member is following in his footsteps.
