Newly licensed Top Fuel driver Justin Ashley joined NHRA reporter Lewis Bloom via Skype in the Wally Parks NHRA Studio delivered by Papa John’s to talk about his young career in NHRA Drag Racing.

Ashley, the son of former Pro Mod and Funny Car racer Mike Ashley, recently began racing in Top Dragster but early this year made his national event debut in Top Alcohol Dragster in Gainesville. Not only did he win the race in his debut driving Randy Meyer’s race car but also ran as quick as 5.143 seconds. He would race again at Charlotte at the Four-Wide Nationals and runner-up to Shawn Cowie.

Ashley recently earned his Top Fuel license in the Matco Tools Top Fuel dragster owned by Don Schumacher, driven by Antron Brown and tuned by Brian Corradi and Mark Oswald. Ashley talked about what his experience was like racing the Top Alcohol Dragster and recently the Top Fuel car and his plans for the future.
