In a move that will improve the online experience for NHRA fans, the staff of National Dragster, NHRA’s award-winning print publication, will now become regular contributors to NHRA.com. Additionally, website content will be bolstered by contributions, both print and multimedia, from other members of the NHRA team, including broadcasting and social media, as well as spotlights from many NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series teams.

The initiative coincides with a home-page redesign rolled out Jan. 6 that offers visitors easy access to dozens of stories and other features on the home page.

Race fans can expect to see a wide variety of content in addition to the site’s ongoing news and event coverage, highlighted by a series of regular daily columns that previously were housed on NationalDragster.net.

On Mondays after national events, fans can take part in an interactive poll to vote on the highlights of that event. On non-race Mondays, a new column, Fast Five, will present entertaining racing-based lists on a variety of topics.

Each Tuesday, National Dragster Associate Editor Brad Littlefield will offer his insight on the week’s latest news and results as well as personality profiles in his popular Tuesday Morning Crew Chief column.

National Dragster Senior Editor Kevin McKenna, a Sportsman racing expert, will publish his column, The Sports Report, each Wednesday, offering both analysis of the week’s racing as well as Sportsman-based feature stories.

Seizing on the popular Internet meme, Thursday’s column, #Throwback Thursday, written by Senior Editor Candida Benson, offers pictorial looks back at both the stars of the sport and great moments from the sport’s history.

While NationalDragster.net will continue to house the publication's digital versions as well as provide access to the popular audiocast and other NHRA member benefits, it will no longer be updated with these news and features. Complete archives of past columns, however, will remain accessible on the site.

Friday’s column, Dragster Insider, written by National Dragster Editor Phil Burgess, already is familiar to visitors of NHRA.com, where since 2007 the column has chronicled the history of our sport and the heroes who helped forge it.

Race fans also will get a steady diet of multimedia on the home page, in the form of video event highlights and feature pieces, as well as podcasts from a number of well-known racing experts.

Visitors also will notice that the Driver Blogs section has been retired, but teams will still be using a similar format to share their experiences both at and away from the track. National Dragster’s iconic On the Run columns will now be presented online instead of in print, allowing drivers and other team members to connect directly with fans on an ongoing and regular basis. These submissions also will be featured on the home page as they become available.
