Saturday is going to be a busy day at the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals as the jam packed scheduled includes final qualifying for Camping World series pros, the start of eliminations for the Lucas Oil Series sportsman competitors as well as the Misison #2Fast2Tasty Challenge and the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Allstar Callout.

Austin Prock (Top Fuel), Alexis DeJoria (Funny Car), and Gaige Herrera (Pro Stock Motorcycle) are the low qualifiers after the opening day of the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals at Sonoma Raceway, the final stop of the three-race Western Swing.

Rivalries were both renewed and created on Friday at the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals as the top eight riders in Pro Stock Motorcycle finalized the pairings for Saturday’s NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle All-Star Callout in Sonoma.

California’s Napa Valley wine country will be the site of this week’s NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series event as the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals takes center stage at Sonoma Raceway. The event is the final event in the annual Western Swing that includes stops in Denver and Seattle.

JR Lobner won in Top Sportsman in both races and Jay Storey doubled in Super Stock and Stock in race 2 as the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series West Central Division was in action with a doubleheader event at Heartland Motorsports Park.

The annual NHRA Western Swing wraps up this weekend at Sonoma Raceway and Pro Stock Motorcycle sensation Gaige Herrera is still in the running to complete a clean sweep of all three events. Herrera has won convincingly in Denver and Seattle so it’s no surprise that he’s the odds-on favorite to claim another title in Sonoma.

Back in the points lead and with a win under his belt heading into this weekend’s 35th annual Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals at Sonoma Raceway, Top Fuel standout Steve Torrence is in an ideal situation.
