Pro Stock icon Warren Johnson joined NHRA reporter Lewis Bloom via Skype in the Wally Parks NHRA Studio delivered by Papa John’s to talk about this past weekend’s NHRA SpringNationals. 

Placed in the middle of three straight races, the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals provides a chance for drivers to bounce back if they struggled last weekend in Houston. But the uniqueness of the race also poses a massive challenge for every driver in the Funny Car class. 

Shawn Langdon’s first race of the 2017 season came in Houston, but his second will take place at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals, leaving the 2013 Top Fuel world champion very little time to get prepared for one of the most unique races on the NHRA circuit.

The biggest spectacle in drag racing and one of the most unique experiences in all of motorsports will take place when the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series again returns to zMAX Dragway for the eighth annual NHRA Four-Wide Nationals, April 28-30.

Heavy rain and a water-logged track caused the postponement of the 2017 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series First Western Regional and Division 3 Sportsman Events at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis April, 28-30. The Ray Skillman Chevrolet Spring Spectacle of Speed will now take place August 10, just prior to the Fall Lucas Oil Series event scheduled for August 11-13. 

Craig Bourgeois, Joel Covington, and Brett Candies led the list of winners as the Texas Motorplex played host to the NHRA South Central Division on April 28-30. The event is one of 45 scheduled across the country where drivers in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series earn points leading to divisional and national championships.

Lucas Oil has signed an agreement to become the title rights sponsor of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event at Atlanta Dragway. The 37th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Southern Nationals will be held May 5-7.

Tanner Gray further solidified his status as favorite for the Auto Club Road to the Future Award, tallying two more round-wins and bringing his season total to double digits during the NHRA SpringNationals in Houston.

The NHRA SpringNationals, race five of the 2017 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, featured many memorable moments. Here’s a look at the five best moments from the weekend.

Joey Severance, Woodburn, Ore., and Doug Gordon, Paso Robles, Calif., led the winner’s circle for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series portion of the 30th annual NHRA SpringNationals at Royal Purple Raceway.

Denso Products and Services Americas has partnered with Pro Stock Motorcycle racer Angie Smith as her lead sponsor for four events in the 2017 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, beginning with this weekend's NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Charlotte.

Bob Tasca III and his AutoAlert Ford Shelby Mustang will be representing Tasca Racing in the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals, April 28-30. It is the first of two events at which the two will partner this season.
