Scag Racing has announced the formation of a second Top Fuel team, representing Bluebird Turf, for the 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series. The new Bluebird Turf team will be led by veteran crew chief Glen Huszar, with Will Smith behind the wheel. The team will work hand in hand with current the current Scag Power Equipment team, including driver Justin Ashley and crew chief Tommy DeLago. The new team will build on the experience and knowledge that has allowed Ashley to become a leading title contender in the very competitive Top Fuel category.

Last year, Ashley and the Scag Power Equipment team won four races in seven final rounds en route to a third-place finish.

The formation of the Bluebird Turf Top Fuel team marks another step of growth for Scag Racing, now fielding four nitro cars, including the nitro Funny Car entries of Daniel Wilkerson and Dave Richards.

Smith, of North Port, Ala., made his debut in a dragster owned by three-time world champion Larry Dixon and competed in four events in Luigi Novelli’s dragster. Smith also raced in three events last season in the Top Alcohol Dragster category.
