
Bradford, Whiteley collect Top Alcohol wins at Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals
In addition to the Mission Foods Series winners at the Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals powered by Direct Connection, eight Lucas Oil Series drivers also scored wins at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Jon Bradford collected his first national event Top Alcohol Dragster win in his third straight final-round appearance, wheeling his unique torque converter-equipped, EFI-fueled dragster to a 5.23 to 5.27 final-round decision over three-time national event Madison Payne. [video]
Jim Whiteley, a two-time world champ and 23-time event winner in Top Alcohol Dragster, finally got his first Top Alcohol Funny Car win to go with a pair of Pro Mod victories when he defeated Stan Sipos in the final, 5.49 to 5.50. [video]
A year after losing in his first final-round appearance at this event in 2024, Scott Linder collected his first national event victory in Comp, turning on the win light in his six-second A/Altered Grand Am with a (-.46) 6.61 to best first-time finalist Brooke Heckel. [video]
For the second time this season, Trey Vetter found the winner’s circle in Super Stock. Following his win in Sonoma, Vetter scored again in Las Vegas with a .005 light and 9.903 against his 9.88 dial to defeat Tommy Gaynor by .012-second. [video]
For the 34th time overall and sixth time in Stock, Bo Butner found the winner’s circle at an NHRA national event. Butner won in Las Vegas on the strength of a 9.552 on his 9.55 dial to overcome a nearly perfect light by opponent Chris Hall. [video]
Alec Bianco turned on the win light in his first national event final, taking the Super Comp win with a 9.057 on the 9.05 index after Mark Simmons took too much stripe and broke out with a 9.045. [video]
Eddy Plaizier, whose first and only other national event win came in Super Gas at the Pacific SPORTSnationals in Las Vegas was back in 2012, collected win No. 2 at the same place with a 1009 to 10.11 final-round defeat of reigning world champ Val Torres. [video]
Ty Gaynor claimed his first NHRA win in Right Trailers Top Dragster with a nearly flawless run that included a .008 reaction time and a 6.901 against his 6.86 prediction to best Moe Trujillo by .008. [video]
