Cauffield awarded Holley Never Rest award at Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals
Florida-based Top Dragster racer Vaughn Cauffield and wife Barbara, who lived out a lifetime dream by heading west to hit a series of season-ending national events, was presented with the Holly Never Rest award at the Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals powered by Direct Connection.
Cauffield left his Lake Placid, Fla., home to compete at the Texas NHRA FallNationals, the Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals, and the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals.
In Dallas, he qualified No. 1 but ran into problems when he found out that the hub between his ProCharger and the crankshaft had stripped. He made repairs with the help of fellow racers and then continued west to Las Vegas while also dealing with a family medical emergency.
The team arrived in Las Vegas but, unfamiliar with running in the dry air and altitude, broke out in round one, but serviced and loaded the car to head to Pomona.
