The August issue of NHRA National Dragster, featuring race coverage from a pair of West Coast NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series national events plus other racing action coast to coast, is now online in digital format and in the mail in its traditional print format to NHRA Members around the world.
The Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals and Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals presented by PowerEdge kept fans on the edge of their seats with gripping drama, crazy performances, and deserving winners. The issue includes burnout to turnout coverage of the action from Seattle and Sonoma, and everything that happened in between.
One of the most dramatic episodes was Top Fuel racer Shawn Reed’s wild crash during qualifying in Seattle, and the veteran racer walks us through the accident and his plans for the future in the issue’s 5 Minutes With interview.
Our columnists weigh in on a number of topics, from ND Editor Phil Burgess’ awe of the accomplishments of two-time Pro Stock Motorcycle world champ Gaige Herrera to Joe Castello’s pondering about the run of high-speed performances in Top Fuel.
Racing from around the country packs almost every page of the issue with coverage from the JEGS NHRA SPORTSnationals, which also hosted event completions from rain-delayed racing both in Gainesville and Bristol, plus NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series coverage from coast to coast. The result of all of this great Sportsman racing action? How about our choice for July’s Sportsman Racer of the Month? Who got it? Check out the issue!
We’ve also got complete coverage of the next generation with the Right Trailers Eastern Conference Finals from the Summit Jr. Drag Racing League, plus a roundup of action from the two-day Division 7 National Open at Top Gun Raceway.
The widespread nature of the coverage in the issue dovetails into world champ Luke Bogacki’s latest “Science of Winning” column, where he explores the “If you can win here, you can win anywhere” theory.
