Jim Whiteley, who normally represents the West Region, was a late alternate and suited up as a non-points-earning member of the East Region. Whiteley, a two-time JEGS Allstars winner in Top Alcohol Dragster and sponsor of Top Alcohol Dragster winner Joey Severance, added a Funny Car win to his résumé with a 5.46 to 5.51 win over the West’s Brian Hough.
