World Wide Technology Raceway, home of the Countdown to the Championship-crucial NHRA Midwest Nationals in October, recently completely repaved the asphalt racing surface of its championship drag racing track.
The facility, with guidance from NHRA and leading motorsports racing surface consultants, completed the project on July 18. Christ Brothers Asphalt Inc., who also repaved the WWT Raceway oval track in 2017, used a specialty blend of polymers and aggregate designed to maximize track preparation and withstand the demands of 335-plus-mph Top Fuel dragsters and nitro Funny Cars.
