Paton Racing will put CK Racing’s Cody Krohn behind the wheel of its Top Fuel dragster at multiple NHRA events in the 2024 season, kicking off at the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals.

Florida-based Krohn has been in the seats of A/Fuel and Top Fuel dragsters already in his young NHRA career, most recently piloting Larry Dixon’s dragster at the 2023 St. Louis event.

The 19-year-old is excited about the opportunity to form a partnership with the Patons and establish some chemistry for the 2024 season and beyond.

“I am beyond thankful and excited for the 2024 season racing with Paton Racing, we can’t wait to see what it brings us,” he said. “My family and I have worked hard and long to make sure everything we do is done well, and to have this opportunity is truly a blessing”

Team owner Todd Paton added, “Cody is hungry to get his NHRA career going, and we love that. I was 19 years old when I competed in my first NHRA event, so I understand where he’s coming from and want to help share this journey with him. We feel we’ve got a competitive car and a team that’s second to none. Whenever we roll in the gate, we’re able to go head-to-head with the best of them, so adding some fresh young blood with Cody behind the wheel might be just what we need!”

The team is looking at running a minimum of six NHRA events with a very good chance of expanding that schedule as the year unfolds.

“We have been upgrading our equipment all winter long and just got the car off the jig in Brownsburg [Ind.], where it got a new front-half, so we feel like we can pick up where we left off at the end of the 2023 season,” said Paton. “Our car chief, Mark Morris, has been running point on all of that and doing a tremendous job. We’re excited to get out there with Cody and see what we can do with some of these upgrades we’ve made with our operation.

“Cody and CK Racing bring along support from Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School and Evolution Motorsports, which is really cool. Frank is a longtime friend and fellow Canadian, so [I] love that he’s been in Cody’s corner in his young career. These new supporters will join our long-standing partners in Fast Eddie Speedwear, Performance Data Systems, Choko Authentics, Ogilvie’s Automotive, Quality Plus Compressors, and Engineered Racing Services. We can’t do it without these guys and are excited to bring them along for the ride in the 2024 season.”
