In addition to the exciting Mission Foods Drag Racing Series action at the Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, six drivers also claimed wins in Lucas Oil Series competition at Bristol Dragway.

Byron Worner picked up his first national event victory in Super Stock since the 2019 season when he slipped by Jeff Adkinson in the final. Worner ran a 9.882 on his 9.87 dial while Adkinson broke out by a thousandth of a second.

After a slow start to the 2024 season, former world champion Jimmy Hidalgo Jr. has caught fire lately with three wins and a runner-up in his last four starts. Hidalgo’s latest win came in Bristol where he defeated Monty Bogan in the Stock final.

Ray Miller III reached double digits in national event victories with his Super Comp victory. Miller, who also owns wins in Super Gas and Top Dragster, scored a tight final-round victory over former Pro Stock racer Vincent Nobile, winning by just .006-second to claim his 10th win.

Homestate hero Gene Brown collected his first NHRA national event victory, claiming the Super Gas crown in his ‘62 Chevy II on final-round opponent JJ Brock’s narrow red-light.

Matt Sackman successfully defended his 2023 Bristol title in Right Trailers Top Dragster when he stopped Vance Houston in the final. Sackman was nearly perfect with a .004 light and a 6.191 against his 6.18 dial.
