Old World Industries, Peak, BlueDEF extend partnerships with NHRA
Old World Industries (OWI), the parent company of Peak and BlueDEF and one of the largest privately held companies competing in the automotive aftermarket, has been named the presenting sponsor of the Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by Peak Performance, which takes place May 19-21 at Chicago’s Route 66 Raceway.
OWI and NHRA have also entered into a multiyear agreement to extend its decade-long partnership with Peak continuing as the Official Antifreeze of the NHRA and BlueDEF as the Official Diesel Exhaust Fluid of the NHRA.
After a three-year hiatus, the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series will make its highly anticipated return to Chicago for the Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by Peak Performance. The fan-favorite event has seen countless historic NHRA moments over the years, and the 2023 race promises to once again deliver action-packed, 11,000-horsepower, 330-mph excitement in NHRA’s return to Chicago and Route 66 Raceway.
“The NHRA fan is our core consumer for products manufactured under the Peak and BlueDEF brands,” states Old World Industries Director of Sports Marketing, Brian Bohlander. “Without races at Route 66 Raceway in nearby Joliet, there’s been a void for the fans in our home market, so it’s exciting to have the NHRA back in 2023 and hopefully for many more years to come.”
Headquartered in the Chicago suburb of Northbrook, OWI continues to be a leading manufacturer of popular automotive products under its Peak and BlueDEF brands. The company has been a major sponsor in the NHRA for more than three decades, including as an official partner since the 2013 season. Peak and BlueDEF will continue to be a highly visible brand at every race on the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series tour with features throughout the NHRA on FOX broadcasts, including the popular “Did you know? Powered by PEAK” in-broadcast feature, as well as on social media.
OWI has also been a longtime sponsor of 16-time Funny Car champion John Force and his John Force Racing powerhouse of race cars, which include reigning Top Fuel world champ Brittany Force, multitime Funny Car world champ Robert Hight, and Top Fuel rising star Austin Prock.
“We are excited to continue our relationship with Peak and BlueDEF,” said Brad Gerber, NHRA Vice President and Chief Development Officer. “They’ve been a supporter of the NHRA for more than a decade, and OWI continues to be a great partner. Returning to their home track at Route 66 Raceway will be a definite highlight of the season, we are all thrilled to return to Chicago.”
