Funny Car's "Big Jim Dunn" is looking for his 1.21 gigawatts at Four-Wide Nationals
88, it's the speed the DeLorean in Back to the Future had to travel to initiate time travel, and it's the age Funny Car legend "Big Jim Dunn" will turn at the Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway during this weekend's NHRA Four-Wide Nationals.
Still tuning the Funny Car at every race, Dunn relishes having his wife Diane, son Jon, and granddaughter Johnna as part of the crew, and refers to many of the other teams and drivers as extended family. The saying "Home is where the race car is" is an accurate moto for Jim. Sponsors, Kindness General Contractors (KGC) and ZICO Coconut Water will highlight the team's celebration this weekend.
KGC has annually sponsored the team as Las Vegas events to promote their western U.S. business, while ZICO Coconut Water is debuting at this race. Fans of ZICO Coconut Water will be able to visit a Menards store near them in the coming weeks to pick up the popular beverage at any of the nearly 350 stores in the Midwest. Driver Jim Campbell and the team will begin qualifying for the 4-Wide Nationals this Friday, April 1st in Las Vegas. Fans can follow the team on social media as well as NHRA.TV and Fox Sports channels FS1 and FS2 throughout the event.
The way I see it, if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?”—Doc Brown from Back to the Future
