Bob Tasca III, Terry Haddock have heart-stopping moment during qualifying
Bob Tasca III and Terry Haddock had some anxious moments during the second qualifying session at the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com when Haddock’s car crossed into Tasca’s lane in the shutdown area. The cars never touched, though their parachutes did appear to make contact with one another.
That's as close as anyone has ever gotten to me; in NASCAR, they call that rubbing is racing, but you don’t want to do that,” said Tasca, who, ironically, crossed the centerline on his Friday pass. “We got lucky; that could have been a lot worse than it was.”
Tasca qualified with a 3.956 on the pass while Haddock also improved with a 4.115.
