Jim Dunn Racing celebrates 30 years with Mooneyes at Winternationals
Since the early 1990s, the Mooneyes brand from Moon Equipment Co. has been associated with Jim Dunn Racing. This weekend, during the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com in Pomona, Mooneyes will once again have its popular black and white graphics on the Dunn Funny Car.
Jim Dunn Racing is thrilled to be competing again at their home track in Pomona. Their race shop is just minutes from the Fairplex and the team didn’t get to race in its own backyard earlier this year due to the pandemic. Funny Car driver Jim Campbell and the team have been riding a positive streak lately with the Funny Car running consistently, and reaching its quickest elapsed time of the season last weekend in Sonoma.
Team Manager Jon Dunn and the crew have been enjoying NHRA’s Western Swing through Colorado and California.
“There’s nothing like being in Southern California and having Mooneyes primary graphics on the Funny Car,” he said. “Our team has so many great memories with Moon Equipment, and we expect to add more this weekend.”
The Funny Car team also has a long history with Lucas Oil.
“Pomona is Lucas Oil’s home track just like ours. Our team recently hosted Lucas Oil hospitality at the Denver and Sonoma races on NHRA’s Western Swing, and we look forward to entertaining their guests in our pit area again this weekend,” Dunn added.
In addition to Mooneyes, several other California based sponsors will join the Funny Car team at Pomona, including Southern Comfort Pools & Spas, Murray Company, Koppl Pipeline Services, and Sully’s Precision Grading.
