Robert Hight and NHRA Championship Drag Racing earned the votes in AAA’s Decision 2020: Drags or Checkered Flags to retain bragging rights as best racing series. Hight, who also won the contest in 2016, faced off with fellow AAA-sponsored NASCAR driver Joey Logano.

After a grueling campaign highlighted by debates at the Auto Club 400 on March 1st and The Last Debate  (held virtually on November 2nd), Hight garnered enough fan votes to win a second term for Drags.

"I've always said it and believed it, drag racing fans are the best, NHRA Championship Drag Racing is the best. I was honored to win in 2016, and I'm honored to win again this year," said three-time world champion Hight, driver of the AAA Chevy Camaro. "This is a great campaign that AAA puts on that brings NHRA and NASCAR together in a unique way. Going head to head with Joey Logano is always a good time."

“The Decision 2020 campaign was a great way to engage NHRA and NASCAR fans to rally behind their respective series, especially during these unprecedented times. Both Robert Hight and Joey Logano are great ambassadors for AAA and their willingness to step outside conventional promotions is not only fun for the fans, but also provides value for us as a sponsor,” said John McQueen, Auto Club Group Manager Strategic Partnership Marketing. “AAA always aims to bring a fresh perspective to engagement and activation, and programs like Decision 2020: Drags or Checkered Flags did just that. We congratulate Robert Hight on his victory, and thank him, Joey and all the NHRA and NASCAR fans that participated.”
