Ford Mustang Cobra Jet match race: Gas vs. Electric at U.S. Nationals—Results!

Ford Performance made the public debut of its prototype electric Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 at the 2020 Denso Spark Plugs NHRA U.S. Nationals, and Bob Tasca III and Tony Pedregon lined up in for electric vs. supercharged V8 showdown with the entire automotive industry watching. Is it too soon to talk about a rematch?

Here's how round one and two of the Ford Performance Cobra Jet Mustang match race went down. NHRA Funny Car driver Bob Tasca III was in the all-electric Cobra Jet 1400, former NHRA Funny Car driver (and NHRA on FOX co-host) Tony Pedregon was piloting the supercharged gas V-8 Cobra Jet.
