Texas Motorplex, one of the premier drag strips in the country, will play host to a wide variety of racing activities for fans to begin the 35th annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals.

“We wanted to do something no other NHRA national event has done before,” said Andy Carter, General Manager Texas Motorplex. “This year has been a challenge for so many people and we wanted to celebrate the resiliency and high passion level of our fans. We will be hosting a two day National Open for sportsman racers on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday Night Live will be full sensory overload when it comes to speed and wild looking race cars. We’ll have everything from Top Fuel Harleys to Pro Mods to Factory Stock Showdown. Saturday and Sunday, we’ll have the best professional drag racers in the country racing all day. It will be a sight to see I promise you.”

National Open, Oct. 14-15
Hundreds of sportsman racers from across the country will be competing in a unique two-day event.

Friday Night Live, Oct. 16
The Friday Night Live event will begin with a round of Grudge Match Racing followed by a qualifying session from the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Top Alcohol Dragster division. The SAMTech.edu NHRA Factory Stock Showdown class will then take to the track, followed by the  Mickey Thompson Tires Top Fuel Harley Series. The night will be capped off by the most unpredictable race cars on the planet of the  E3 Spark Plugs Pro Mod Drag Racing Series Presented by J&A Service with the Freestyle Motocross flying through the sky before Jet Dragsters light up the Texas sky with their powerful burner pops and amazing fireball starting line launches.

AAA Texas FallNationals, Oct. 17-18
Saturday and Sunday at the Motorplex will feature competition in NHRA’s four professional classes: the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series. Two rounds of qualifying on Saturday will set the field of sixteen for Top Fuel dragsters, Nitro Funny Cars, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle categories. Televised on nationally on FS1 the FallNationals will feature 330 mph race cars and competitors from across the country.

Chris Kyle Frog Foundation Event, Oct. 18
Once again the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation will offer military and first responders free tickets to the annual NHRA national event. During the July 4th weekend the “Buy a Ticket, Give a Ticket to a Military or First Responder” campaign provided complimentary tickets to hundreds of veterans and first responders for the race.

After months of local and regional events with limited fans thanks to the support from Governor Greg Abbott, Texas Motorplex is set to host one of the largest outdoor motorsports events in the state with the 35th annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals. Working within the approved State of Texas guidelines, Texas Motorplex will be able to welcome up to 50 percent capacity for fans throughout the race week which will mean thousands of drag racing enthusiasts can travel to the race track located in Ennis, Texas, just minutes south of Dallas/Ft Worth. The track will be instituting the standard safety measures that have become commonplace as Texans work together to slow the spread of COVID-19.

To purchase tickets, call 800-668-6775. Military and first responders can save 20% on adult reserved or general admission single day tickets at www.nhra.com/govx. Savings will also be available at the gate with the presentation of a professional or Military ID at the ticket window. Tickets also are available online at www.texasmotorplex.com.
