Cory Mac is back (again) to run a third Indianapolis race in DSR Top Fueler
Two-time U.S. Nationals Top Fuel champion Cory McClenathan will get another shot at some Indy glory when he returns to the cockpit of a Don Schumacher Racing-operated dragster for a third straight outing at the upcoming Dodge NHRA Indy Nationals presented by Pennzoil, Aug. 7-8.
McClenathan and team owner Don Schumacher originally had partnered to run just the first two events of NHRA’s July Return to Racing at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis, with McClenathan bringing Nordic Boats, Rev Chem Composites, and FatHeadz Eyewear as sponsors, and both were eager for those sponsors to get additional exposure once the third Indy event was announced by NHRA.
The team will travel to WorldWide Technology Raceway outside St. Louis to test next Wednesday before the start of the Indy event.
“I’m thrilled for my sponsors and, of course, for myself, for another chance to go out on a high note, said McClenathan. “I’m really excited that we’re able to test and give us the opportunity to come out swinging at Indy. We’re all looking forward to it.”
