The Pro Stock class returns to the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series after a three-race "spring break" to highlight NHRA's second return to Virginia Motorsports Park.

The beatiful facility south of Richmond hosted an NHRA national event last year for the first  time since 2009, and racers and fans were welcomed to what racers deemed the smoothest, best racetrack they'd seen in a long time. Unseasonably warm temperatures last year kept performances down last year, but slightly cooler temps this year may prove to be a boon.

Defending event champ Steve Torrence enters th eevent on a two-race hot streak after winning back to back in Charlotte and Atlanta but, oddly enough, none of the other three defending event champs -- Courtney Force in Funny Car, Tanner Gray in Pro Stock, and L.E. Tonglet in Pro Stock Motorcycle -- are on hand to defend this crowns.

Today's schedule also includes eliminations in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing series, as well as qualifying in the E3 Pro Mod series. Here's the day's complete schedule.
