Steve Torrence made the best run for the second straight session, a 3.791 that accompanied earlier passes of 3.773, 3.824, and 3.873, setting himself up as a Sunday favorite. Clay Millican stayed No. 1 with his Friday 3.74.

Steve Torrence made the best run for the second straight session, a 3.791 that accompanied earlier passes of 3.773, 3.824, and 3.873, setting himself up as a Sunday favorite.

Clay Millican stayed No. 1 with his Friday 3.74 and ran 3.820 in the final session, the third-best pass behind Torrence and the 3.811 registered by No. 2 qualifier Mike Salinas. Antron Brown made his best run of the meet, a 3.839 that was milliseconds better than his 3.841 opening pass.

Audrey Worm made a career-best 3.986 (her first three-second pass) to claw her way into the field alongside Ike Maier, whose 4.265 eked him into the field on the bump spot and knocked Cameron Ferre from the show, but Maier was quickly bumped by Ferre’s 3.998 in the next pair to seal the field with Dan Mercier on the bump spot with a 4.124.
