No one could better Clay Millican’s opening lap of 3.749, but Mike Salinas, who had to skip the most recent event, in Atlanta, to attend to business matters, showed no ill effects of the break, cranking off a 3.754 in the Scrappers Racing entry for the best run of Q2.

Millican and the Parts Plus team, scheduled to run last in the session, opted not to run after making a pre-determined decision to not run in comnditions they won;t see again this weekend providing they did not slip below the No. 5 spot in the session. Brittany Force (3.772) and points leader Steve Torrence (3.773) had the session’s next-best numbers to move to the Nos. 3 and 4 spots, respectively.

The bump sits at a casual 5.107 with teammates Ike Maier and Todd Paton on the outside.
