Race coverage
Bo Butner

Bo Butner advanced to the semifinals with a 6.625-second elapsed time – but it was his .025-second holeshot that got him past Chris McGaha. The three-time winner in 2019 will get a matchup Jeg Coughlin Jr. to try to get yet another final round. Coughlin defeated Fernando Cuadra Jr. to end the rookie’s first race day.

No. 1 qualifier Jason Line launched out of the groove and fell to Alex Laughlin. Line slowed to a 6.685-second pass and ended his day on a sour note. Laughlin will get a chance to avenge the defeat of teammate Erica Enders, who fell to Greg Anderson. Anderson ran a 6.629-second pass and will have lane choice in the semi’s.

Second-round pairings (lane choice first): Greg Anderson vs. Alex Laughlin; Bo Butner vs. Jeg Coughlin Jr.
