Another race, another semifinal for Pro Stock points leader Bo Butner who is now 19-2 in elimination round after his quarterfinal win against Matt Hartford. Butner, a four-time winner this year, wheeled his KB Racing-powered Camaro to a 6.621 after Matt Hartford blazed the tires in his Total Seal Chevy. Butner, who is also solidly in contention for the win in the SAM Tech.edu Factory Stock Showdown, will be joined in the semifinal round by Chris McGaha, Jeg Coughlin Jr., and Alex Laughlin.

None of the quarterfinal races were what could be described as traditional side-by-side Pro Stock battles. Deric Kramer and Greg Anderson also spun the tires and shut off while Jason Line fouled in his race against Alex Laughlin, who is now 12-6 on the season and solidly in control of second place in the Pro Stock standings.

A semifinal is just what the doctor ordered for McGaha and Coughlin who entered the Norwalk race as the No. 10 and No. 8 ranked drivers in the class. With just 18 races on the schedule this season, and four remaining before the start of the Countdown to the Championship, the clock is ticking for Pro Stock drivers. Coughlin won earlier this season in Phoenix while McGaha is seeking his first win since last year's Epping race.

Semifinal pairings (lane choice first): Chris McGaha vs. Bo Butner; Alex Laughlin vs. Jeg Coughlin Jr.
