Norwalk Pro Stock Motorcycle results: Semifinal
For the 30th time in their career and fourth time this season, the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson team will send a pair of riders to the Pro Stock Motorcycle final where Andrew Hines will attempt to maintain his slim 15-14 edge over teammate Eddie Krawiec.
Hines seeking his fifth win of the still-young season, powered his Street Rod to an impressive victory against reigning champion and recent Chicago winner Matt Smith. Hines set the pace with a 6.864 that was better than Smith's 6.891. It was little consolation for Smith to reset his own Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park track speed record at 198.88 mph on his Denso EBR.
Krawiec, the defending Norwalk winner, will have a chance to compete for career-win No. 48 after he stopped Scotty Pollacheck in the other half of the semifinals. Krawiec left first and never trailed with a 6.915 after Pollacheck shut off early. Krawiec has won 18 times in 19-career races against Pollacheck in his career. His record for the year is now 16-6 in elimination rounds.
