Welcome to raceday at the NGK Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway. After two days of qualifying, Sunday promises to be a real four-wide shootout among the three Mello Yello classes as well as the E3 Pro Mods and Mountain Motor Pro Stockers who also will be going at it four at a time.

Teams finally came to grips with the track in the final qualifying session Saturday, especially in the nitro classes, where a large number of drivers ran nearly matching times, setting up a close battle for today. Remember, the first two finishers in each quad advance to the next round, so there will be no give-up in any of the lanes.

Mike Salinas, who won the recent four-wide event in Las Vegas, is the low qualifier again in TOp Fuel while Robert Hight, winner of three of the season;s first five events is the low qualifier in Funny Car. Karen Stoffer was a bit of a suprise in Pro Stock Motorcycle, where she earned her first No. 1 start in nearly four years; we'll see if that carries over into eliminations.
