Welcome to the opening day of the 32nd annual Mopar Express Lane NHRA SpringNationals presented by Pennzoil. The opening nitro qualifying session is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. Central time.

Last week, the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series moved west to Las Vegas for the Denso NHRA Four-Wide Nationals where Mike Salinas became NHRA's latest first-time professional winner and reigning Funny Car champ J. R. Todd claimed his first win of the season.

This week, the Houston event will also include an appearance by the E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod series and a special exhibition event featuring Mountain Motor Pro Stock cars as well as a full slate of sportsman racing in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series.
