Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals Friday Preview
The Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals kick off qualifying in Top Fuel, Funny Car, E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Modified, SAMTech Factory Stock Showdown, Mickey Thompson Top Fuel Harley and Lucas Oil Sportsman drag racing beginning at 1:30 p.m. Central Time. The complete schedule is available here.
Professional qualifying begins at 4:45 p.m. Central Time and culminates with a pair of sessions beginning with Funny Car at 8 p.m. Central Time. We will bring you a series of highlights from classes ranging from Top Fuel Harley all the way to Funny Car throughout the evening. The first FS1 television broadcast will air at 10 p.m. Eastern on Saturday. You can catch all the action live on NHRA.tv. The full TV schedule is available at any time.
Steve Torrence and Tommy Johnson Jr. enter Heartland Motorsports Park as the most recent winners on tour, while Clay Millican and Courtney Force are the most recent winners in Topeka. Stevie Jackson won the last time we saw Pro Mod on the NHRA circuit and he has an opportunity to become a first time winner in Topeka as the series did not race at the track in 2019. Tii Tharpe won in Topeka in 2018, but teammate Jay Turner is the most recent Top Fuel Harley victory. Drew Skillman is the most recent Factory Stock victor.
