Blake Alexander picked up a new sponsor ahead of the NHRA Virginia Nationals. Carter Machinery, a Caterpillar sales, service and rental company based in Salem, Virginia, will heavily feature on Alexander’s Funny Car at the eighth stop on the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series tour.

“I am from Roanoke, Virginia and have known of Carter Machinery for many years. I am excited to team up with Carter and burn nitro with their customers in Richmond. The people that work at Carter are unmatched in attention to detail which leads to their customers’ successes at jobsites across Virginia and West Virginia. We will use their same attention to detail with our 320 mph Pronto / Carter Machinery Funny Car.”

Alexander, in his first year of Funny Car ownership, will host Carter Machinery customers and guests at the NHRA Virginia Nationals while chasing his first win in the short-wheelbase category. He is a multi-time winner in Top Fuel and is the youngest team owner in NHRA Mello Yello competition. Alexander has qualified at every event he’s entered in the 2019 season.

“We are excited to host a weekend for our customers in Richmond alongside Blake Alexander’s team,” said Jenna Peckman, senior marketing consultant at Carter Machinery. “Our clients are hands on individuals and the NHRA pit-side hospitality experience provides a weekend where they can be up close and personal with Blake’s team.”

Qualifying begins Friday, May 17 at Virginia Motorsports Park. Television coverage gets underway Friday at 10:30 p.m. Eastern on FS1, continues Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and wraps up with eliminations coverage Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
