Andrew Hines made the best run of the first round (6.872) to continue the Harley-Davidson dominance at the Arby’s NHRA Southern Nationals. He will race Ryan Oehler in the second round in what promises to be an interesting matchup. Oehler still holds the fastest time slip of the weekend in Pro Stock Motorcycle, while Hines has the second-quickest.

Karen Stoffer scored the lone upset of the first round, and it was a slight one. She beat Matt Smith from the No. 9 spot when the defending Pro Stock Motorcycle world champion turned on the red light. Stoffer coasted to victory and will race 2017 champion Eddie Krawiec in the second round.

Second-round pairings (lane choice first): Eddie Krawiec vs. Karen Stoffer; Jerry Savoie vs. Steve Johnson; Andrew Hines vs. Ryan Oehler; Hector Arana Jr. vs. Angelle Sampey
