The NHRA Countdown to the Championship continues at the AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals with 40 racers in the hunt for a championship. Professional race day begins with Top Fuel and continues with Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle at World Wide Technology Raceway.

Racing begins at 11 a.m. Central with Top Fuel. Matt Smith enters as the defending champion in Pro Stock Motorcycle. Tanner Gray is the defending winner in Pro Stock, Robert Hight is the defending winner in Funny Car and Steve Torrence is the defending winner in Top Fuel.
