NHRA applauds new eCOPO concept
Chevrolet’s SEMA Show announcement of an electric-powered COPO Camaro was met with enthusiasm by NHRA officials, who are excited about the new possibilities for electric-powered vehicles in NHRA competition.
“Chevrolet’s dedication to innovation and performance is evident in this new concept vehicle,” said Glen Cromwell, NHRA president. “NHRA has been discussing and exploring how electric cars are evolving to determine how they will shape the future of drag racing. The new COPO Camaro is an exciting development in that process.”
Josh Peterson, NHRA vice president of racing administration, added “The new COPO Camaro concept vehicle presents an interesting new dynamic in racing performance. We have already seen Chevrolet’s dedication to the NHRA in many of our racing categories and the new Camaro just continues to show that NHRA drag racing provides an excellent showcase for its cutting-edge technology.”
