Frigo races to No. 1 qualifying position at AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals
Sidnei Frigo clinched the No. 1 qualifying position Saturday evening after three rounds of qualifying due to rain at the E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by J&A Service potion of the AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals. This weekend’s Pro Mod racing, presented by Bruce Lowrie Chevrolet, is the 10th of 12 races this season.
Frigo powered his ’69 Chevrolet Camaro to a 5.779-second pass at 256.50 mph to take the lead during the third round of qualifying. This is his first No. 1 qualifier of the season, and third of his career as his chases his first victory of the season. He will face Danny Rowe when eliminations begin on Sunday.
Michael Biehle II is in the second position with his run of 5.780 at 256.89 and will take on Todd Tutterow Sunday morning. Points leader Mike Janis qualified eighth and will face Mike Castellana when eliminations begin.
