Chevrolet has renewed its longstanding relationship as the “Official Truck of NHRA.”

Since 2014, Chevrolet has provided the Silverado trucks and Suburban vehicles utilized by the Safety Safari presented by AAA that are necessary at each of the 24 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series national events to provide emergency response and track preparation. The dependability and capability of Chevrolet trucks are imperative to this legendary safety group as they perform their trackside duties.

“The Chevrolet products NHRA uses during race weekends allow the NHRA Safety Safari to do their jobs with flawless precision at each event,” said Graham Light, senior vice president of racing operations for NHRA. “Their continued support of NHRA and the durability of the vehicles is invaluable to our racers.”

The Safety Safari, the first full-time team devoted to safety in North American Motorsports, is known as the finest in racing. The Chevrolet vehicles are a major component of the group’s success as they perform their trackside duties at any given moment.

“Chevrolet is proud to be the ‘Official Truck of NHRA’ said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet truck marketing director. “This partnership lets us connect with NHRA fans and racers to showcase Silverado and Colorado, from the family of the most dependable, longest-last pickups, as well as Suburban which, along with Tahoe, have been the best-selling full-size SUVs for the past 43 consecutive years.”

NHRA will provide Chevrolet with recognition in National DRAGSTER as well as on NHRA.com, in addition to fan engagement opportunities and brand presence at all NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events.

Chevrolet also has a presence with the sport of NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing as the Chevrolet Camaro brand is represented in the Funny Car ranks as John Force, his daughter Courtney and 2017 Funny Car world champion Robert Hight race their 10,000 horsepower vehicles at events across the country. Bo Butner, the 2017 Pro Stock world champion, is one of many Pro Stock racers who compete in a Chevrolet Camaro.
