Blake Alexander to drive LoCo Cookers Top Fuel Dragster at U.S. Nationals
Blake Alexander will don the LoCo Cookers colors at his seventh event of the season when he pilots the Bob Vandergriff Racing Top Fuel Dragster at the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis. The two-time winner boasts four final-round appearances in his second year behind the wheel of a Top Fuel Dragster and is racing with LoCo Cookers on the side of his dragster for the first time in his career.
“We’re thrilled that the LoCo Cookers car will be on display and competing for a win at NHRA’s biggest race of the year," said LoCo Cookers CEO Mac Plummer. "The timing of the race is the perfect jump-start for our brand as we roll-out our products in Lowe’s stores across the country beginning in October.”
Team owner Vandergriff, himself a finalist at the U.S. Nationals, brings a wealth of experience to the team.
“I’m looking forward to having LoCo Cookers join BVR for the U.S. Nationals," said the three-time event winner. "Mac and I have become good friends, our kids play little league together, and when I mentioned our plans on adding Indy to our schedule he jumped right in and asked how he could help. We’re fortunate to have friends like Mac and everyone at LoCo Cookers.”
Alexander currently boasts a round record of 16-4 and is 12th in points. The former Funny Car racer is enjoying a career season while driving for BVR.
“Racing at Indy comes with history and prestige,” said Alexander. “It is a great opportunity to measure yourself against the best. Everyone at BVR is ready to rise to the occasion and compete at the world’s biggest drag race at a higher level.”
