A look at the season stats for the 2017 rookie class through the NHRA New England Nationals, race nine of 24 on the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule.
Tanner Gray continued his impressive rookie campaign with his first No. 1 start in Pro Stock and another final-round showing, this one resulting in a runner-up finish at the NHRA New England Nationals at New England Dragway. Troy Coughlin Jr. notched a round-win in Top Fuel, and Shawn Reed was also in competition at the event. Jonnie Lindberg (Funny Car) and Joey Gladstone (Pro Stock Motorcycle) are also in contention for this year's Auto Club Road to the Future Award given to the season's top rookie.
