Coming off arguably the best three-week stretch in his Top Fuel career, Steve Torrence heads to Heartland Park Topeka, the site of this weekend’s 29th annual Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals presented by Minties, a confident driver.

The jump into the NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Drag Racing Series has been filled with challenges, and nothing about the first four races has been easy for Stevie “Fast” Jackson. But in his mind, that’s just the way he likes it.

Pete Gasko Jr., winner of the SAM Tech Factory Stock Showdown in Charlotte, joined NHRA reporter Lewis Bloom via Skype in the Wally Parks NHRA Studio delivered by Papa John’s to talk about his recent victory. 

Three of the hottest drivers in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series right now -- Steve Torrence (Top Fuel), Ron Capps (Funny Car), and Bo Butner (Pro Stock) -- are the favorites of NHRA National Dragster's Tricky Tipster to win the Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals presented by Minties.

There have been six different winners at the first seven races. Having finally escaped the doldrums of a frustrating stretch, Drew Skillman would like to be the next on that list.

Seven California racers took home wins from the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Pacific Division event at Auto Club Dragway at Auto Club Speedway over the weekend. Racers from all over the state were represented in the final rounds, making this a golden weekend for NHRA racing in California.

NHRA has announced a change to the structure in which racers earn points toward a berth in the popular JEGS Allstars program. Beginning with the 2018 JEGS Allstars event, racers will now count their best five in-division events toward their JEGS Allstars points total.

Three-time NHRA Top Fuel champion Larry Dixon will make his Top Alcohol Funny Car debut May 19-21 at Summit Motorsports Park. The event is part of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series for Division 3.
